SNMPTN stands for the National Selection Sign State University (SNMPTN). This selection system is a placement test systems in public universities nationally executed, by a central committee in Jakarta, who was appointed by DITJEN DIKTI, DEPDIKNAS RI. This mechanism will be implemented in early July 2010. Aim of the National Selection State University is to select new candidates who have the academic ability to attend and complete university education in accordance with the time limit set. Implementation of the National Selection State University is also not reduce the authority of their respective universities to conduct their own selection. Selection is done by a written exam pattern.

National Selection Activities State University is a selection of student candidates to enter the State University at the National level with the pattern of written test and test specific skills for specific study programs. The implementation of this selection is carried out by a Central Committee which was formed by the Ministry of National Education of Indonesia and located in cities where strategically located State University.
Written test held in the framework of the National Selection of State Universities will be implemented simultaneously and integrated at the clock and the same day, with about the same in the various State Universities in Indonesia, so that participants are expected to choose the location closest to the implementation of these selection events. An exam is not taken into consideration in the selection process and the determination of a prospective student graduation in the college of choice.

1. Assessment test results using the following conditions:
* Answer RIGHT: + 4
* Answer FALSE: – 1
* No Answer: 0
2. Each eye exam will be assessed based rankings on a scale of zero to a hundred before that value added. Therefore, each eye exams should be done as well as possible and nothing is overlooked.

PROGRAM OF STUDY GROUP AND NUMBER OF OPTIONS

1. Study Programs in State Universities are divided into two groups, namely group Study Program and Social Science.
2. Each group examinees IPA / IPS can choose a maximum of two courses in accordance with the test group followed.
3. Each IPC group examinees can choose a maximum of three courses with a record of at least one science course and one group of courses IPS group.
4. The order of selection Studies Program is a priority choice.
5. Examinees who choose a study program can choose courses from the State Universities in any area (cross-region).
6. Examinees who chose two or more courses, one of these courses should be a study of the PTN program that is one area in which contestants take. Another option could be a PTN courses from outside the area (cross-region).
7. List of courses, seating capacity and the number of enthusiasts in 2009 will be included in Participant Handbook.
